According to the authorities, the kids' mother, Sonia, appears to have strangled them to death. The death cause has been reported as suffocation.

Who Is Sonia Loja? 

Sonia Loja was 36 years-old mother who is reported to have killed three of her children and killed herself by suicide later.

Police rushed to a single-family home on Whaley Street at around 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday to conduct a well-being check and discovered a lady. 

She was later identified as Sonia Loja, 36, dead from suspected asphyxia by hanging.

The bodies of Loja's three children, Junior Panjon, 12, Joselyn Panjon, 10, and Jonael Panjon, 5, were also discovered inside the house.

Danbury police claimed in a statement to The Post that "pending an official autopsy, early investigations indicate that Ms. Loja strangled her three children before killing herself." This is a developing story.

Two other persons who weren't present when police came on Wednesday lived at the house with Loja and her three children.

The four deaths have now been informed to them, according to police.

The statement from Mayor Dean Esposito on Thursday read as follows: "Yesterday, a genuinely appalling incident took place in our city, and we grieve the tragic lives lost.

In the next few days, mental health and counseling services will be offered in association with the City of Danbury and the Danbury Public Schools.

"Our neighborhood mourns the innocent souls that were lost. Together, we can get through this," the authorities mentioned.
