Robert Hernandez Obituary, Death – Memorial services for Mr. Robert “Paul” Hernandez will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 26, 2024, in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, to honor and celebrate his life. Chaplain Robin Cooper will officiate the service, providing comfort and support to family and friends during this time of remembrance. Visitation will commence at 12:00 noon, under the compassionate direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville.

Mr. Hernandez, affectionately known as Paul, lived a life characterized by his unwavering faith, dedication to his community, and love for his family. At the age of 68, Paul entered eternal rest on Friday, February 23, 2024, at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital, Alexandria, LA, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and compassion.
A Man of Many Talents and Passions
Throughout his life, Paul devoted himself to retail management, leaving a lasting impression on those he encountered. Many fondly remember “Mr. Paul” from the convenience store on Upper 3rd St., Alexandria, where he managed for several years before transitioning to the Cotile area. His passion for car racing and the thrill of speed was evident to all who knew him. In his leisure time, he enjoyed four-wheeler riding, tinkering with riding lawnmowers, and exploring his love for mechanics by taking things apart.
A Heart of Gold
Paul’s generosity and compassion knew no bounds. He was known as everyone’s favorite uncle, often declaring himself “too cool for school.” His open heart and willingness to help those in need endeared him to many in the community. Beyond his hobbies and interests, Paul found joy in nurturing his vegetable garden, particularly his beloved tomatoes, which he tended to with care and dedication.
Cherished Memories
Paul’s memory will forever be cherished by his devoted wife of thirty-eight years, Lisa Hernandez of Cotile, who stood by his side through life’s joys and challenges. He is also survived by his brothers Joe Hernandez (Bonnie) of Alexandria and Ben Hernandez (Carol) of Trout, his sister Judy Kirkland (Jeff) of Amarillo, Texas, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who will carry his memory in their hearts.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Hawthorne for his exceptional care over the years, as well as to Dr. Gene Otuonye and respiratory therapist Kevin Spoor for their dedicated support during Paul’s illness.
