"Married At First Sight" star Miles opens up about how he felt about his wife knowing who he was before they walked down the aisle in last night's Season 11 premiere.
The season 11 premiere of “Married At First Sight: The Matchmaking Special” left fans in shock and wondering how Miles feels about his wife knowing his identity before walking down the aisle.
The debut episode shows 26-year-old Miles, a school administrator, and 30-year-old Karen as a match for the experiment. During the episode, viewers learn that Karen, who might be a little guarded due to her experience in a previous relationship, has found out the identity of her groom before the wedding day.
However, this defeated the entire premise of the show, which is to pair strangers based on the views of chosen experts. Madamnoire, in an exclusive interview with Miles, was able to find out how he felt about the situation. In his words:
"I’m kind of jealous she had a leg up on who I am before coming down the aisle. Luckily I’m more than my social media pages! I recognized some of her friends as I came down the aisle so I was a little nervous."
He added that while he believes in the experiment, some of his family and friends are not totally on board with the process.
Lifetime TV shared a trailer featuring the couple on it's Instagram page and in the clip, the 30-year-old revealed that she had gotten a text revealing details about her match, and she concluded that he was not her type. Karen's family, like her groom's also have their reservations about her decision to marry at first sight.
TV insider reports that viewers got a sneak peek of Karen informing her friends and family that the experts of "Married at First Sight" have found her a groom. In the exclusive clip, her mum doesn't hide her opposition to the idea as she blurts out, "Have you lost your mind?"
According to Screen Rant, the show's experts Dr. Pepper Schwartz, Pastor Calvin Roberson, and Dr. Viviana Coles, usually try to adhere to some of the expectations of the singles.
Miles is set on finding the right woman for him who will support his passion for children and education. Karen, on the other hand, works in human resource and find dating to be tiresome.
Although, sometimes, they do the complete opposite. The latter seems to be the case for Miles and Karen as the outlet reports that the bride had requested for an older partner. Screen Rant opines that while age might be a deal-breaker for some, it has not mattered in some relationships from previous seasons with the same dynamics.
Meaww shares that fans seem confused as to why people who understand the terms of the experiment still enroll for it knowing they might get paired with someone who isn't their type.
One fan's advice to the singles was, "don’t go on if you aren’t will {sic} to risk it." Another agreed saying,"... clearly their USUAL type hasn’t worked out for them because they're still single."
According to the Lifetime TV website, Miles is set on finding the right woman for him who will support his passion for children and education. Karen, on the other hand, works in human resource and find dating to be tiresome. Only time will tell if these two eventually find love with each other.
