When did you know that you wanted to spend your life with your partner?Papoose: I knew I wanted to spend my life with my partner from the first moment I actually saw her. For me, it was love at first sight.
Remy Ma: I would say, we were probably already married. I know it sounds crazy, but we were already married when I was like “alright this is definitely forever”. And I felt like that and I felt that when we were dating, and we first got married. But after going through so much and in the end still loving him more, I was like “yeah, this is definitely forever, forever”.
What is your favorite part about being married?Remy Ma: Just knowing that I have somebody that no matter what, they're always going to be there for me. I love going to bed at night and having my husband there. I can’t even imagine not having him there, it’s just literally unimaginable.
Papoose: My favorite part about being married is the high level of loyalty, dedication, and sincere love that we share amongst each other. There’s no other sense of security outside of having that one person that you know, regardless of what will always be there for you and vice versa. Things in the world these days are so uncertain, tomorrow isn’t promised, and you know never know when people are going to change on you but when you take vows under God at your wedding, which your partner, you know it's till death do you guys apart. The level of unconditional love.https://www.instagram.com/p/CAJmq3qDfb-/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
What do you do to keep the sparks going?Papoose: What me and my wife do to keep the sparks going is very much natural. We don’t plan anything; we just continue to each other naturally. It’s not done with the intention of keeping the sparks going. I’m attracted to her on every level, so the sparks fly, it's natural.
Remy Ma: I feel the same way. I don’t think we do anything to keep the sparks going. I think in most relationships where the love is genuine, and people got married or they're dating and they are together for the right reasons it’s just going to happen. You’re not going to have to do anything to keep the sparks because you’re going to be naturally attracted to them and it's just going to be there. And not to take anything away from people that feel like they have to do something, but I just think it’s cooler when it's genuine.
Do you have any advice for a new couple looking to build a future with their partner?Papoose: My advice to new couples looking to build a future with their partner is, do it from the heart. Don’t build a future with someone just to build a future, I hope you have someone in mind already while considering doing that but take it one day at a time, days turn to weeks turn to months turn to years…before you know it, you’ll achieve that longevity. Be considerate of one another. It’s all about sacrifice and compromise. For me, my wife comes first, I even put her before myself because she’s my wife. I made that promise when I decided to marry her. Be considerate of your partner. The sky is the limit. Take it one day at a time. Communicate well and everything will fall in place. Stay loyal.
Remy Ma: I would add to that. You don’t want to miss the moment in the time that you guys have now because you are so focused on the future. There are so many things especially now with us being married, this year makes 13 years of us actually being together and in a relationship for almost 16 years, it goes by really fast. Although I love our married life and the life that we have now, being parents and things of that nature, I miss our dating phase; when we sit and we talk about it sometimes, just that vibe of when you’re getting to know each other and you’re anxious to see each other, those moments you have to cherish them because they go by really really fast. We never planned back then what we would be doing 10 years, 15 years from that moment, we were just in that moment. I think ghats what makes now so special because we didn’t plan for it to be, it’s just like the gift afterward.https://www.instagram.com/p/CJP2yRxD2pY/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
Papoose: All new couples, you’re going to know when you meet that special someone that made for you, your soulmate, you are going to know. You’re not going to question it for a second. It's going to be guaranteed without a doubt that is the person for you and everything is going to be perfect. If you’re in a relationship right now and it doesn’t feel right and it just feels a mess, it’s not going to feel like that. Follow your instinct, when you meet that special someone, you’re going to know. The Mackies originally married in 2008 – and said “I Do” all over again after Remy was released. Papoose assures us that it was indeed, love at first sight.
