Late actress Elizabeth Taylor married numerous times: She is survived by her five kids!

Elizabeth Taylor, a late star of the Golden Age of Hollywood, was way ahead of her time. Born on February 27, 1932, in London, Taylor had a career equivalent to any legendary man or woman in the acting world. Throughout her decades-long tenure in showbiz, Taylor headlines hundreds of flicks and shows, and in the process, earned three Oscars, BAFTAs, and Golden Globes.

The actress, who died after a prolonged illness in 2011, is best remembered for her roles in Raintree County, Butterfield 8,  Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolf, Suddenly, Last Summer, and more. Her illustrious career aside, Elizabeth's personal life and choices weren't any less of an attention grabber. The actress's many marriages garnered her a lot of negative publicity and disapproval.

The Truth About Elizabeth Taylor's Many Marriages!

Taylor's many marriages evince that the late actress was as feisty and relentless in her pursuit to find the one. Elizabeth famously walked down the aisle eight times, a feat no modern-day Hollywood women have crossed. Taylor wasn't the only actress of her time who had garnered an ominous reputation for their daring steps.

Taylor's contemporaries, Zsa Zsa Gabor, Jennifer O'Neill, and Lana Turner, boasted the same record. The Father of the Bride actress married her first husband, Conrad Hilton Jr., the late Hilton hotel heir, at the tender age of 18. The duo's union unraveled before they could wrap up their European honeymoon.

In her autobiography, Elizabeth Takes Off, the actress reveals Conrad's abusive tendencies which quickly ended their nuptial. Married and divorced at 18, Taylor didn't waste much time soaking in the lesson and jumped into another marriage as a 20-year-old. She married English actor Michael Wilding, who was 20 years her senior, in February 1952.

The pair's nuptial lasted five years and spawned two sons. Taylor eventually called it quits with Wilding in 1957 amid Michael's fading career. Elizabeth's third husband, producer Mike Todd, who she married days after finalizing her divorce from Wilding in 1957, was her first great love. As the actress recalls in her memoir, Todd was the first man to show her what genuine love felt like.

Taylor welcomed a daughter with Todd before his tragic death in a plane crash in 1958. "God, I loved him," Taylor wrote, adding, "My self-esteem, my image, everything soared under his exuberant, loving care." The Oscar-winning actress's next marriage was a scathing event in the actress's life.

Less than a year after Todd's death, the actress tied the knot with singer Eddie Fisher, who was a good friend of her Todd. The Raintree County actress was termed a homewrecker for courting Fisher while he was still married to his first wife, Debbie Reynolds. Taylor claimed that Fisher's first marriage was already on the rocks when she started dating him.

Taylor and Burton's long ruckus-filled marriage earned them the nickname, The Battling Burtons!

Taylor's fourth nuptial ended after she fell in love with her Cleopatra co-star, Richard Burton. The Oscar winner divorced Fisher in 1958 and went on to marry Burton in 1959. The couple's on-set romance overshadowed the epic film and even landed the duo in a pickle.

The love birds walked down the aisle in 1964 and had a tumultuous run for a decade, which earned them the nickname, The Battling Burtons. They called it quits in 1974 before giving their marriage another shot in 1975, making it Taylor's sixth time walking down the aisle.

The fiery couple ended their ties for good in 1976. "Even though there were rough times, I wouldn't give up one minute of my time with Richard Burton," the late actress wrote about her most famous marriage. Taylor's string of famous marital ventures suddenly took a shift when the actress got married for the seventh time.

Elizabeth married Senator John Warner in December 1976. The Butterfield 8 actress's imposing star power certainly helped Warner achieve his political aspirations but Taylor realized she wasn't a cut out to be a Senator's wife. The pair called it quits in 1982 and for the first time, Taylor remained unmarried for nearly a decade.

Taylor didn't steer away from dating. From her seventh divorce to her eighth wedding in 1991, the Cleopatra actress dated George Hamilton, Anthony Geary, Dennis Stein, and Victor Luna. In October 1991, Elizabeth walked down the aisle for the final time.

The legendary actress and her seventh husband, Larry Fortensky, were an unlikely match as Larry was a constructor worker. Larry's industrial job wasn't a problem for Elizabeth but things went downhill when he stopped working, probably because of his wife's massive wealth. The pair's divorce was finalized in 1996.

Elizabeth Taylor is Survived By Her Four Kids!

Despite her several marriages and a dozen more romantic relationships, Elizabeth only mothered four kids during her life span. The legendary actress's oldest kids, Michael Howard, and Christopher Edward, who she welcomed with her second husband, Wilding, are both in the entertainment business.

Taylor's oldest two haven't appeared in anything notable in the recent decade. Michael's credits include Dallas TV and Guiding Lights. Christopher's notable credits include The Shadow, Tombstone, and Overboard. Taylor and her most famous husband, Burton, shared an adopted daughter, Maria Burton, a German-born girl, who has remained out of the spotlight.

The Raintree County actress's last-born, Liza Todd, was also adopted by Burton when the couple got married for the first time. Liza is a reputed sculptor and is considered one of the best equestrian sculptors. The last time the media heard of Lisa's private life, she had become a mother to two sons.
